- Access the National Student Loan Data System on line at www.nslds.ed.gov
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This system provides loan information on all your Federal Student Loans. You will need to provide your social security number (SSN), the first two letters of your last name, date of birth and lastly your Department of Education (FAFSA) PIN- all of which help to ensure the highest level of online security and privacy. The FAFSA PIN is a unique identifier which allows you to access various Department of Education systems. Because your PIN serves as your electronic signature, you should not give it to anyone.
If you don't know you're PIN, if it's expired or if it needs to be activated, you can visit
www.pin.ed.gov
. Follow the easy online instructions and depending on the request type, you will receive PIN retrieval instructions via email in as little as 4 hours.
